About The SEQ
The SEQ is a valuable tool completed by a member of the School Leadership Team (SLT) every two years, alongside The SHRN Student Health and Well-being Survey.
When combined with our survey, the SEQ helps create a unique and comprehensive dataset that explores the links between school policies, practices, and learner health and well-being outcomes.

Key features of The SEQ
Whole-school Approach: The SEQ data aids schools in embedding a Whole-school Approach to Emotional and Mental Well-being; supporting WNHWPS monitoring and policy implementation, and identifying innovative practice.
Self-Evaluation and Comparison: Schools utilise SEQ data to assess and enhance learner well-being; compare their data with national SEQ data and monitor their school-level policies and practices. Read a copy of the 2024 SEQ report.
Support for Estyn Inspections: SHRN data is a key source for Estyn school inspections. The SEQ offers detailed information on school policies and practices, facilitating self-evaluation and comparison with national data. This comprehensive data helps inspectors evaluate the school’s environment and effectiveness.
